How to play Teen Patti

3-6 players · blind, chaal & show — table chips only

Goal

The Diwali classic. Three cards each, one pot — bluff, bet, and outlast the table. Best hand (or the last one standing) takes the pot.

Chips (never marbles)

You play with table chips (everyone starts equal), never your lakhoti wallet — nothing of value is ever wagered, so it stays a family game. At the session's end the chip ranking decides the winner and pays the normal game reward.

Blind & seen

Play blind (cards face-down, bets cost the stake) or see your cards (bets cost double). After 4 blind bets you must see. Hands rank: Trail (three of a kind) > Pure run > Run > Colour > Pair > High card. A-K-Q is the top run, A-2-3 second.

Betting round

On your turn: Chaal (match the stake), Raise (double it), or Pack (fold). With 3+ players you can pay for a Sideshow — privately compare with the previous seen player; the weaker hand packs.

Show & winning

When only two remain, either can pay for a Show: cards are revealed and the better hand takes the pot. Run out of time on your turn and you pack — keep the game moving like a real baithak.
