How to play Dadar
2-6 Players · Five in a Line — a Ladder
Goal
Cards in your hand, chips on a board. Cover squares until you have five of your chips in a line — across, down or diagonally. That line is a dadar, a ladder, and it is what the game is named after. Two sides need two dadars; three sides race to one.
The board
A 10×10 board. Every card except the jacks is printed on it twice, and the four corners are free — they count as everybody's chip, so a ladder touching a corner only needs four of your own.
Your turn
Play one card, put your chip on a square showing that card, then draw a replacement. Tap a card to arm it and the squares it can cover light up; tap one to place. If both a card's squares are already covered it is dead — tap it to bin it and draw.
The jacks
♦ and ♣ jacks are wild: place your chip on any empty square. ♠ and ♥ jacks remove one opponent's chip instead — but never a chip that is already part of a finished dadar. A finished dadar is safe forever.
Winning
Seats: 4 is 2v2, 6 is 3v3, and 2 or 3 play for themselves. A new dadar may reuse at most one square of one you have already built, and no square may belong to more than two — so a row of six is one ladder, not two.
